FAQs

What are the requirements to become a Care Partner?

You can view a full list of requirements here. In general, you must be over the age of 21 with a clean driving record and criminal history and have or be willing to get basic caregiver training as well as your CPR & First Aid Certificate.

Do I need insurance?

Yes, in order to join the CareCar Network you must have auto insurance. CareCar’s insurance policy sits on top of your insurance policy to provide protection for you while you work through the app. In the unfortunate event that you are in an auto accident, you should report it to your insurance company and CareCar. Representatives from both will work together to ensure the best possible outcomes for you.

How does CareCar work?

CareCar works with insurance companies and their members to improve health outcomes. As a Care Partner, you are an independent caregiver contracted by CareCar on behalf of our insurance partners to help their members. Members make service requests on our platform and those requests are sent to you. You get paid to handle those requests successfully. CareCar is paid to manage the process, ensure compliance, quality, and provide support where needed.

What if I don’t have a car?

At this time to be a Care Partner, you must have access to a qualified vehicle (see requirements). Because members often request both home care and transport together your ability to fulfill both requests is necessary. If you need help leasing or buying a qualified vehicle, please contact us directly for options.

How do I earn?

Care Partners have two models of compensation - shifts and flex. With the flex model, you can go on and off duty, and accept/decline requests as you please. You will be paid be only for the requests you fulfill successfully. With the shift model, a shift will be offered, and once accepted you are guaranteed to AT LEAST make the market minimum, regardless of how many service requests you fulfill. If its a busy day you will make more than the minimum. However, during an accepted shift, you MUST accept all requests during your shift (with the exception of emergencies) in order to qualify for the minimum guarantee.

How can I earn more?

Healthcare regulations prohibit providers from requesting or soliciting tips. Instead, you will automatically receive a reward for successfully fulfilling tasks based on quality measures every month. You can also earn more by increasing your capability to service more skillful requests, such as wheelchair transports, ADL home care, and more. See our market rate sheet for details.
